In the summer of 2013, the violinist Ilya Gringolts and the Vorarlberg Symphony Orchestra presented Weinberg's Violin Concerto in Schwarzenberg and at the Bregenz Festival, where they met with great enthusiasm.
This was followed by two CD recordings of this impressive violin concerto: a recording with violinist Linus Roth and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Mikhel Kütson (he appeared at Challenge Classics, summer 2014) and a recording with Ilya Gringolts and the Warsaw National Philharmonic under directed by Jacek Kaspszyk (published early 2015).
Weinberg composed instrumental concertos for cello, violin, flute, trumpet and clarinet, but surprisingly none for his very own instrument, the piano.
