after the 2nd movement of the 1st Piano Concerto in C major
Journal pour la Flûte No. 12
Theobald Böhm, the inventor of our modern flute, has not only left his own compositions but also a number of interesting arrangements of classical and romantic works for his instrument. In addition to expanding the flute repertoire, his concern was also the study literature for playing cantabile.
This may also have been the reason for the present arrangement of the 2nd movement from Beethoven's 1st Piano Concerto op. 15. Its vocal line is well suited for a transcription.
