- Spem In Alium
A Motet in 40 Parts
Thomas Tallis' "Spem in alium numquam habui" for 40-part unaccompanied mixed chorus is one of the greatest British (vocal) works of the renaissance. Tallis composed the work ca. 1570 and scored it for 8 separate choirs of 5 voices each. This score is in G. The full vocal score and two chorus parts (Choirs I-IV, and Choirs V-VIII) are available on hire from Oxford University Press.
