"Alors on danse" is a song about about life's stresses and the role of dance as a release.
In May 2013, amateur videos surfaced on YouTube showing Stromae apparently drunk and wandering at the Louise tram and metro station in Brussels during the daybreak, which eventually went viral. It was revealed days later that the incident was part of the taping for a music video; this was confirmed during the TV programme Ce soir in which Stromae discussed and also performed "Formidable", which is about the story of a drunk man just separated from his girlfriend. The clip, fully composed by extracts of hidden cameras, also shows onlookers taking pictures with their cellphones of Stromae's "drunken act" plus three policemen talking to the artist intending to help him, unaware of the taping. The video won the award for the "Music video of the year".
The video of the song "Papaoutai" shows a young boy trying to interact with his unresponsive father (played by Stromae), who sits motionless, while outside, other parents and children dance together. In the end, the son joins Stromae on the sofa, assuming a rigid, lifeless position identical to his father's. It refers to the absence of Stromae's father, who was killed in the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
