Der Amboss als Soloinstrument ist sicherlich sehr außergewöhnlich. Dennoch rückt Albert Parlow ihn ins Rampenlicht und erlangte mit seiner Amboss-Polka Weltruhm. Bereits im Jahr 1853 kam der Amboss in Richard Wagners Oper Rheingold zum Einsatz. Hiervon inspiriert schrieb der Berliner Parlow eine Polka für "Solo-Amboss“.
