Uta Pape, was born into a musical family in Mainz, Germany. She received her first violin lessons with her father Egmont Michels at the age of five and later continued with Dorothee Birke in Frankfurt and Maria Egelhof in Mainz. She gained orchestral experience as the concertmaster of Rhineland-Palatinate’s State Youth Orchestra and as a member of the Germany’s Federal youth Orchestra. Uta Pape completed her studies with Michael Gaiser and Andreas Krecher at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf and took part in master classes with Yfrah Neaman, Ulf Hoelscher and Hermann Krebbers. Her studies with David Takeno in London were of particular importance to her. Since then, she has recorded for radio broadcast and performed at major European music festivals as a soloist and orchestra musician. From early on, Uta Pape has been committed to historically informed performance on period instruments. In 2013 Uta Pape makes her CD debut with the CD "Walther - Westhoff - Bach", brought out by the label Ars Produktion.
