Severin Zöhrer Severin Zöhrer grew up in Kirchzarten near Freiburg. Initially he studied church music at the Musikhochschule Mainz: organ with Prof. Gerhard Gnann, choral conducting with Prof. Ralf Otto. Later he continued his studies at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart in the organ class of Prof. Dr. Ludger Lohmann. His influential conducting teachers include Prof. Dieter Kurz, Prof. Richard Wien and Prof. Johannes Knecht. In February 2013 he completed his Master’s Degree in Church Music A and then continued his training as a postgraduate organist. In 2012 he was the first prize winner of the Eberhard-Friedrich-Walcker Organ Competition in Schramberg. He performs regularly as organist and chamber musician. Most recently he was a guest at the Reutlingen Organ Summer, in the Bad Hersfeld Organ Summer and in Feldbach (Austria), where he made some radio recordings. Since 2013 he has been working as district cantor for the deaneries of Kraichgau and Mosbach-Buchen, based in Eberbach. In addition to his work as organist and choirmaster, he is responsible for church music training and further education in the deaneries.
