Léopold Dancla was a musician, and brother of Charles Dancla. He was a pupil of Baillot at Paris Conservatory, taking second prize in 1840, and first in 1842. He mostly wrote light music, including 3 string quartets, airs variés, fantasies and etudes for violin.
