Die Sonne am strahlend blauen Himmel, wirbelnde Schneeflocken im Gegenlicht, dunkle Höhlen, die Nordseite eines Bergmassivs, das ewige Spiel von Licht und Schatten. Das Werk besteht musikalisch sowohl aus solistischen Passagen als auch aus massiven Tutti-Abschnitten.
