Opus 10
The first viola concerto op. 10 was published in 1800 at Pleyel's in Paris. The solo part - written in G Major - bears the note "L'Alto doit être accordé un ton plus haut", which means, the instrument had to be tuned a tone higher. As this type of scordatura-playing is practically not done any more nowadays, the edition is furnished with a part in A Major to be played loco.
