Description
The regiment Hoch- und Deutschmeister was founded in 1696, when Prince Eugene of Savoy needed more troops to fight the Turks. Numerous songs tell the deeds of this Austrian general. The later army bandleader Andreas Leonhardt processed the best known of these songs into his "Prinz Eugen-Marsch".
This exceedingly jagged march is k.k. Dragon Regiment No. 13 "Prince Eugene of Savoy". But also the 2nd Bavarian Chevaulegers Regiment Taxis in Regensburg blew him as a formation march.
