Lord of Seven Seas

In the overture "Lord of Seven Seas" Kees Vlak paints impressive sound images of a fantastic future.

It is the year 3000. Space travel determines the connection from the earth to the planets. Wars between the peoples of the earth no longer exist. Only one giant spaceship, which can navigate both above and below water, monitors the oceans. This ship, the "Lord of Seven Seas", is a hundred times larger than the "Nautilus" or the "Titanic" and of course not comparable to a ship of our time. In the introduction to the overture, the giant ship is introduced by means of a music style that reminds a bit of science fiction space series. This is followed by a fragment dominated by rain and storm, which has similarities to the legend of the "Flying Dutchman". The middle part is designed as a barcarole. The ship is studying the fauna in the depths of the Arctic Ocean. The people on board enjoy the silence under water as well as the diversity and beauty of the animal world. In the last part, the majestic giant ship rises above the water surface and flies from one ocean to the other. The grand finale draws yet another impressive picture of the incomparable sight of the "Lord of Seven Seas".
