Beginning at the Harp 1

Beginning At The Harp is the first harp work by Lucien Thomson who was awarded a citation "for outstanding service to the cause of the harp" by the American Harp Society, and has been appointed Chairman of the Music Education Program for that organization.

This book is designed for the training of children over seven years of age who have not had any previous musical experience. It is not intended to be " a Method". The purpose of this book is to develop natural talent and a love of music through hearing, seeing and doing.

Elementary Theory is included as an aid to the student in correlating what he hears, sees and feels (interval feel). It is hoped that the teacher will assign additional written work, particularly in note-naming and rhythm-phrases.
