The dreamlike beginning is followed by a dancing passage that grows increasingly impassioned and in which all groups have their turn in the spotlight. Afterwards, the dramatic theme from the start returns to the fore with a splendid antiphon in the horns/euphoniums bringing the work to a grandiose close.
