The chamber music of Simon Lasks who wrote his 'Suite polonaise' in 1935 under the spell of his sojourn in Paris offers Polish folklore and Parisian esprit. At that time, the composer was inspired by Ravel among others; the work is dedicated to Karol Szymanowski.
