John Frith's POEM for Flugelhorn or Trumpet in B-flat and Piano is a six and a half minute expressive work for advanced performers that beautifully shows off the lyrical and technical capabilities of the instrument. The beautiful melody comes back several times. The performer gets to "show their stuff" with a cadenza.
There is a version of this work with Wind Orchestra accompaniment. This work is dedicated to for Ugnius Vaiginis and the Trimitas Wind Orchestra.
