Underwater

Ludovico Einaudi presents his latest masterpiece: Underwater. The album contains 12 pieces and is a manifesto on life during the pandemic; a reflection on a world that has come apart at the seams. The composer talks about the process of creating his first solo piano album in over a decade, which he wrote in isolation in Italy.

Working without distractions or the usual commitments that come with his busy schedule, he said: "It was a sense of freedom to give myself up and let the music flow differently. I had no filter between me and what was coming out of the piano; it felt very pure."
