Carnival

This work was commissioned by Marktmusik Timelkam on the occasion of its 170th anniversary and depicts the cultural life and hustle and bustle of its Austrian home town of Timelkam. Carnival describes a festive procession that begins on the market square and lasts well into the night. The work has many "carnival-like" elements and brings great joy to the players. There are many cheerful moments in the music: cheerful people are chatting in the inn, singing and dancing together and having fun. There is also a melancholy mood, accompanied by memories of lasting farewells and the search for love. With the musical depiction of children's games and pranks, a beautiful sunrise and a description of the town's churches and clubs, this composition is not just a depiction of a carnival procession, but also a depiction of life.
