The Spanish composer and pianist Isaac Albeniz (1860-1909) was one of the leading members of the Nationalist school that dominated Spanish music at the turn of the last century. Cordoba was the fourth in a collection of 5 songs for the Piano inspired by different places in Spain, published in 1898 as Cantos de España (Op. 232).
