My piece „Ghostlight“ is based on a myth that is part of Irish folklore. According to this myth, jack-o´-lanterns (from now on called ghostlights) function as guides to demons. In „Ghostlight“ the listener accompanies a wanderer on his voyage who happens to meet a „ghostlight“. Knowing nothing about its origin, he chases it through the woods until he reaches the dark cave of a demon. He musters up all his courage and attacks the demon.
