Based on two African American spirituals with additional words and music by the composer, this is a fantastic concert closer! Building from a layered unaccompanied opening section, the music builds into a driving gospel rhythmwith piano, bass and percussion, punctuated by cries of “Dan-i-el!” Powerful! Duration: ca. 4:30.
