As a conductor, composer and former CBS director, José Carli is probably more familiar with Argentinian music than almost anyone else§ His arrangements (including Piazzolla pieces) have been enthusiastically received by Daniel Barenboim and other classical musicians. These ‘Tangos Nuevos’ were written for the ‘Vienna Brass’ ensemble, who have been causing a furore with them for years. With the extra parts, the work can be realised in practically any brass ensemble (available separately).
