Franz Grothe (1908-1982) is one of the most important composers of German film and popular music. He delighted people for more than 50 years. His melodies for film, stage, tv and records are still popular today. His instrumental piece "Mitternachtsblues" (Midnight Blues), written in 1956, became his biggest international success and was sold more than one million times in only two years.
