Japanese Journey

Several concert tours to Japan inspired Hans Bernd Zimmermann to write this musical journey depicting the following scenarios:

1. A large lotus flower lake in the centre of Tokyo, dragonflies dancing in the morning sun.
2. The neighbouring temple Sensō-ji in Asakusa opens its doors and the first visitors and children stream in. The temple is surrounded by a lively market selling a wide range of souvenirs.
3. Inside the temple, a reverent atmosphere blends with the sounds of the bustle outside.
4. From the top of the Tokyo Tower, a replica of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the view sweeps over the megacity.
5. The Shinkansen bullet train then takes you to the south of Japan, to the historic old imperial city of Kyoto, with its geishas and famous Buddhist temples.
6. Finally, on the summit of the sublime and sacred Mount Fuji, the main theme is played again in a grand orchestration.

Japanese Journey was published together with Timanfaya as part of a sponsorship by Stretta Music and released for Deutsches Musikfest 2025, which is organised by the Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Musikverbände e.V. (BDMV).
