This publication is the first dictionary specifically oriented to the vocabulary used in the fields of bow and bowed string instrument making.

It is designed as an aid to all those involved and interested in the practical and theoretical aspects of these areas. The choice of words is designed to cover both the basic and specialized terminology used in making and dealing with bows and bowed string instruments.

The authors have included terminology used with respect to tools, materials, basic music theory, general business and commerce as well as the history of bow and instrument making.
